FAQ

Below you will find answers to our most frequently asked questions, however please do not hesitate to contact the team if you have any other queries.

What services do DDMIX for Schools provide?

DDMIX for Schools is a not-for-profit company. We want to work with you to get dance fitness into your school.

Our annual Dance Fitness for PE Schemes of Work Membership provides online access to:

    • Schemes of Work for EYS, KS1 & KS2 (also available in Welsh)
    • DDMIX dance videos
    • Bespoke DDMIX music
    • A range of movement-based games (also available in Welsh)
    • Additional lesson plans and resources

Each school will receive a website login where they can access all the above, as well as access to our online training videos. As with a practical inset, these videos will introduce:

    • How to use the Schemes of Work
    • Delivery of key skill activities as used in the lesson plans
    • Breakdown of the DDMIX genres
    • How to link theme/genres to develop skills

There are many options available to you, our most popular being our Schemes of Work membership with additional onsite inset training.

If you book an inset/twilight, we will come to your school and train up your own teachers. Our professional team will provide a breakdown of the Key Stages along with a thorough initial break down of genres.

We have found after the insets, the teachers feel confident with the key movements and genres regardless of previous dance experience, encouraging more people to want to teach PE.

Alternatively, if you are interested in a DDMIX instructor visiting your school we provide DDMIX for Schools workshops. We will provide a day of workshops covering a genre/genres of your choice. For example you may choose a different country for each year group if you would like to go around the world.

We are passionate about giving all children the opportunity to get active and will provide the most appropriate option to suit your school.

How much does it cost?

Our Schemes of Work membership is £250

Membership includes access to online training but you have the option to book an onsite inset/twilight at your school separately, prices starting from £350 per school.

Our extended inset/twilight options (4+ hrs) are split into two training sessions, across the year. This will give your staff time to absorb the information and movements from the 1st session. If you have then identified areas of focus or improvement, this can be covered in the 2nd session along with further training. We are here to make it work for you.

Workshops: The cost of a day of workshops start at £220 for the day (this includes 4 sessions during the day)

Please see all of our pricing in the ‘Pricing’ section of our website.

If you need further assistance you can of course contact the school team to discuss what is best for your school.

Why DDMIX for Schools?

DDMIX for Schools is a registered charity.

We are passionate about making dance fitness an integral part of PE in all schools, giving all children the opportunity to get moving whilst most importantly enjoying exercise.

It is easy to teach. The genres are each broken down into key movements which can be used as building blocks to allow easy delivery and give the children the confidence and foundation to create.

The classes are very high time on task, and therefore the children are moving within 60 seconds of entering the class for a group warm up.

It is diverse, inclusive and non-competitive.

DDMIX for Schools Dance Fitness is movement to music NOT specialised dance.

It is a full body and mind workout.

Designed to fit within PE, following the National Curriculum guidelines.

It fits any UK school’s physical assets, all you need is a power source.

The music is unique and specifically created for DDMIX, therefore there is no opportunity for exclusion, we never use ‘pop’ music.

Our membership means you have the option to have continued support should you need any further help/assistance with the programme, including Scheme of Work updates and continued access to online training and support.

Who do I need to get in touch with to book or for more information?

Contact our DDMIX for Schools team at info@ddmixforschools.com who will be happy to assist you with your bookings and enquiries.

Can my school trial the product?

Yes, if you are interested in signing up, we would be more than happy to offer a complimentary lesson plan and an online taster ‘assembly’. Please head to the Contact page for details.

Will Darcey come to my school?

Darcey is actively involved with the DDMIX for Schools programme and events however, we cannot guarantee specific visits due to her incredibly busy schedule. However, we can say since the launch of the programme she has visited a huge amount of schools, and will always try to get down to as many schools as she can to see the children in action.
